ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ENGLISH ENRICHMENT

Accel’s English Enrichment Program’s goals are to foster a love of learning and promote a sense of self-confidence that will allow students to achieve as much as possible.

  • Courses developed for grades 4 and 5

  • Classes focus on helping students gain confidence in English through reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction works from various genres that students are likely to encounter in their regular classrooms.

  • Full-time teacher creates and constantly updates our reading lists from a combination of traditional required school readings, Newbery Award lists, and student interest.

  • Students also develop and use strong skills, often in more depth than they do in school.

    • essential grammar

    • organization skills

    • beginning critical thinking

  • Classes focus on developing necessary composition skills through writing journals, creative writing and book reports.

  • The fundamentals of good study skills necessary to succeed in middle school are introduced.
